Hi, welcome to my blog. This is my first ever blog post. I'm gonna talk a little about what this is, who it's for, and a bit about my work and aspirations. Okay, so this is my blog. I made this because I was bored and wanted to redesign my portfolio, and I thought to myself, “why not add a blog?” so I did. My old portfolio was really bad. I put it together quickly just so I could apply to jobs. But I took my time with this one. I made it after getting more experience in UI/UX design, and I'm proud of what I came up with. I'm especially happy with the micro-interactions and the clean UI. The idea to make this came after seeing sites like Tonsky's personal website and reading his blog. I really liked the message he was trying to get across in one of his posts (Javascript bloat in 2024), and I decided I wanted something like it. I care about performance and optimization, which isn't a bad thing. But it's a balancing act. Caring too much can waste time and effort. Caring too little leads to bad software. I've fallen into that trap many times even while building this website. That's part of the reason it took me so long to launch. It's mostly ready, but I kept nitpicking at small things that weren't worth the effort. What I don't realize sometimes is that most people don't actually care. And the 1% of people I'm subconsciously trying to satisfy don't really matter. So moving forward, I'm gonna try balancing output speed with working quickly. Speaking of moving forward, I want to talk a little about my future plans for this website and other things. I'm planning on continuously developing it. I want to add rich text rendering to the blog and case studies sections, plus a way to add content more easily (right now I upload files directly to the database). But that's for later. Right now, I'm focusing on adding actual content; images, blog posts, case studies because I'm still using placeholders for a lot of things. Anyway, that's it for my first blog post. See you soon.
